Alisyn Camerota

Alisyn Camerota, journalist, writer, anchor for CNN's morning program "New Day," as well as a Westport, CT resident, is elected to the board of trustees of Westport Country Playhouse. Camerota has been an journalist for 30 years, was a reporter for news and events both nationally and internationally. She won an Emmy Award in her early journalistic career, for her coverage of the detention by Roger Stone and the Edward R.Murrow Award when she broke the devastating news of Hurricane Maria. As part of other trustee board' transitions, Johnna G. Torsone of Stamford is appointed an honorary trustee, having been as a trustee since 2007, and Anna Czekaj-Farber of Westport is elected board chair after serving as board chair since 2013. Czekaj Farber takes over from Barbara Streicker from Westport who held the position of chairperson in the previous year. She has continued to serve in that position since 2006.
