Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis Taylor, actress, American stage and screen actress and producer. She is most famous as a film actress for her roles in Ray Undercover Brother (Ray Undercover Brother) and The Mentalist. She graduated with a B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue is an American actress as well as a producer and director. She has worked in both film and television. Her career began acting in the theatre and then went on to be a part of numerous television shows, as well as independent and mainstream films. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with critical acclaim but also received a host of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. In addition to Broadway's Come and Gone, she also has credits for Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Film-wise her most well-known roles are roles such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. In television, her role in the ABC's crime drama High Incident is well known.
